A Sonnet

Behold the elephant that has a nose

Which is prehensile and a trunk which can

Snort water and can squirt it out at his

Own body and the folks who stand around

Him, eh?  A hairy mammoth was a beast

Who managed to get frozen many years

Ago before he lost his hair and did

Become the modern hairless elephant.

Behold the salamander which can change

Its colour like chameleons that change

According to what place that they are perched.

Poetic license does require that I

Do keep an eye on the connection twixt

The elephant and salamander pics.
