AN ELEPHANT A DAY
KEEPS THE BLUES AWAY
A Lyrical Suggestion for
some Sanity
By Izzy Ess of Coolness
Methinks an elephant has
the equipment
To put out a fire and
should be utilized
As fire[er]-fighting
apparatus,
Eh? Imagine in your neighbourhood
A pen of elephants let
loose in case
Of blazing houses or a
house and squirting
Water in large arches. It would obviate
The whole expense of
keeping fire[er]-fighters
In a pen for hours on end
Just playing euchre, dice,
asleep, or having
Sex, awaiting for a
blazing house
Or barn to spring to
action. The upkeep
For grey-white elephants
would be some hay
And fresh unspoiled
alfalfa, fresh, clear water
And their poop is good for
fertilizing
Lawns and gardens, even
yours. An elephant
Is capable of knocking
down
The blazing walls and
finding folks entrapped
And saving them, their
pets and children from
The flames. And, even spiders, termites, flies
And moths could thus be
rescued. During summer
Times and winter, fall and
spring, the kids,
And young adults and
elders, could have some
Excitement, sans the use
of drugs, by mounting
Elephants and taking rides
around
The parks and neighbourhoods,
instead of bringing
In the evil barkers and
the carousels
To entertain them. Transportation
Up and down the highways
and the rural
Routes could be provided,
easily
And inexpensively. The baby elephants
Are entertaining just
because
They’re babies and have
not become the self-
Imprisoned workaholics that
their parents
Are. Imagine, eh?
Pollution would
Be very low and using oil
and gas
Resources would be minimum
unless
Administration is
performed by a
Perfectionist, or dull
committees of
Perfectionists, without
imagination.
Dreams of peace and
happiness, the harmony
And free expression of
some unconditional
Great loves, might yet
again
Be possible. Just mice and men, alone,
Would surely and
completely halt the coming
Of the natural great
values of
The elephants, especially
the babies,
To society, on grounds of
un-
Imagination and unnatural
Perfectionist abhorrence
of the natural
Sweet order of just everything,
Including chaos. While I write
too much
And mention many issues with
perfectionists
And left-brained people, it
does help
Me
get it off my chest and onto yours.

Simcoe, AKA, Civic Day
In Canada, a Holiday for Banks
And other large institutions
this would make a good blues song or an oratorio... anybody out there want to write the music for this libretto?
ReplyDeleteelephant blues or to be or not to be an elephant would be good alternative titles for a musical version...
