JANE’S SMILE

An Ode to Smiling Jane

By Izzy Ess of Happiness

In all the world there was no one that smiled
Like Jane.  If you were feeling low, a smile
From her would get you thinking optimistically,
Lovingly and quite extraordinarily
Calmly, eh?  No difference
If you were tall or short or black
Or white or yellow, pink or otherwise,
Ms. Jane would heal your blues and lead you to
The Promised Land where Love and Peace and Harmony
Abound, where lovers are encouraged
To embrace in public and to kiss
Away the day.  I went with her to Shangri
Falala.  We spent the day embraced,
Enjoined and intertwined.  Oh, wow!  Was it
Terrific and splendiferous?  Why, yes,
It was!  Why, all my backaches and my toothaches
Disappeared.  A migraine which was fast
Developing, just faded and it flew
Away.  The ache inside my groin was so
Relieved, we were quite really forced to do
Our mambos horizontally, anew.
It’s obvious to me and Jane that we
Are lovers, every day and every way.
It’s even true in Mandalay or Bay
Of Pigs or Chesapeake or Hudson’s great
Big Bay.  Amen and Hallelujah, eh?

THE END

  1. Jane, i am yours fore'er and e'er. I have
Not met another who comes close to you.
I have not met another who inspires
Me like you do. I have not met another
Who can make my heart race even when
You're no where near me, eh? May I come to
You this winter, spring, fall or in the summer?
May i bring you my tired bones for you
To energize? Or may you come this way
And show me how it's really like to love
And like and get along with all my family.
Or maybe we could meet half way in some
    Secluded lover's nest in Illinois
Or Michigan? Or should we just keep writing
Oh so casually and not get
Involved again. Please write to me my love
And we will be supported by our spirits
And our feelings for romance that must
Remain quite distant, eh? It would be just...
