EMMANUEL
AND PIERRE
A Modern Fairy Tale
Meant to Scare Children
So they go to Sleep with
Moral Thoughts Abounding
By Izzy Ess of Scariness
Pierre
refused to eat the food that Manny had prepared. He was suspicious that it had been poisoned
such that Pierre would eat the poisoned part while his life-long friend,
Emmanuel, would get the part that was untainted. This would be something like the fairy tale
about the Sleeping Beauty who had been protected by the Seven Dwarfs. The Evil Witch, who was the ruling Queen, had
magic monitors, not unlike the present Big Brother monitors, which told her
that she wasn’t the most beautiful woman in the land, because the hunter that
had been sent to murder her had duped her with another heart from an innocent
animal, because he couldn’t make himself murder an innocent, child.
I’ve always thought the Seven Dwarfs were the opposite of the Seven
Deadly Sins, perhaps the Seven Happy Virtues who whistled while they worked who
didn’t anticipate the underhandedness of the Evil, rather beautiful,
Queen. Pierre got himself so worked up, he
died of a massive heart attack before Manny could administer his artful
CPR. Go figure…
