A Mammoth and a Real Moth

A Silly Sonnette

By izzy ess of wilderness

Suppose a hairy mammoth had an angel
On its hairy shoulder which appeared
To be a moth.  Would the huge mammoth mouth
The moth or would he heed its warnings that
The Second Coming will involve a cat?
In Mandalay and Hudson's Bay, the whales
Retold the story of the wreck of Bloody
Mary Mercury which ran aground
At Owen Sound.  Suffice to say, the Bay
Of Pigs, of Prigs and Katydids, revolted
On a summer's day to Pay the Piper
And repay the Piper's daughter for
Her services to Dan and Jim and Thor
And be with Evergreen forever more.
