Dear Editor, Welland Tribune,

Welland is uniquely situated at the Hub of the Niagara Peninsula.  A Welland Water Taxi, WWT, publically or privately owned and licensed by the City, could be very convenient and profitable for Welland.  The Welland Canal and the Welland River systems could provide the routes from Welland to say, Chippewa, Hamilton, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Port Colbourne and St. Catharines, Ontario for tourists and businessmen, students, teachers, vacationers and ordinary citizens.  The central station of the new WWT should be Welland.  The WWT should bring money into Welland from many sources, not the least of which are the tourists who come to NF, who could then stay in Welland, instead of the very expensive tourist area of NF.  A WWT could provide a scenic trip throughout the Niagara Peninsula for vacationers, businessmen and women.  It could be an interesting alternative to the less used bus routes presently in place.

Thank you for listening.

Sincerely,

Izzy Sommers, MD
Welland, Canada
