Sylvester Cinchovitz selected Sal
To be his partner for the hit on Victor
Veer, the meanest Son of Betterments
Who had offed M. Pierre Monteux and Herr
Johannes Steinbeck, eh?
They set a trap
And had him thinking that he was invited
To a dinner honouring King Ludwig
Maximillian of Bavaria.
The best laid schemes, of mice and Cinchovitz,
Gang oft agley. King
Ludwig was supposed
To be available for Cinchovitz’s
Schemes, but he was indisposed. His tryst
With Lady Sycamore had led to complications
Of a nature, undisclosed.
Alerted, Victor Veer retaliated
And shot down poor Cinchovitz and Sal.
A wee and glamourous gray beasty scurried
Off to Effingham and set up Shoppe
For Impecunious Great Poets Who
Resided in the Land of Xanadu.
