A ZEBRA AND A MINOTAUR

MINNOW AND ZEE
A Tail of Tale
By Izzy Ess of Horse Pluckiness

A Minotaur recovered his composure
When a female horse in black and white
Pajamas propositioned him.  He said,
“Hello, young lady.  Are you free to find
Some hay and roll in it?”  Replying quickly,
She averred, “Preferring heather, I
Will meet you in the gloaming, if you like?”
“Of course,” he said.  “Should I not bring a bottle
Of Chianti?”  “I’m no fool!” she said.
“A Chevas Regal bottle would be best.”
“My name is Minnow.  May I ask your name?”
“Sure. You may call me Zee.  That’s short for Zebra
Mae.  Is Minnow short for Minotaur,
My handsome lad?”  “Why yes, my dear.  I will
Trot to Ye Golden Liqueur Shoppe and get
Some Regal, Chevas, and will meet you at
The Heather Inn.  OK?”  “It’s perfect, my
Good sir.  I hear they have the latest in
Luxurious new stables with some heather
On the floor, instead of hay.”  They smiled
And parted.  Zee went home to change pajamas
And our Minnow bought the booze.  They booked
A stable at the Inn and oozed romantic
Whisperings, all night.  The Chevas Regal
Was delicious and relaxing.  In
The morn, they mucked the floor and went their separate
Ways, the Minotaur to Pastoral
By Beethoven and Zee to Zanzibar
To learn to drive a car.  They met again
In twenty years and didn’t recognize
Each other.  Sad, that stars were in their eyes.

THE END
