PERHAPS, TODAY’S THE DAY

Perhaps an Oratorio

By izzy ess of peace and happiness

It seems to me that even Cree and Cherokee,

Oneida, Seneca and Mohawks,

All the rest, deserve to have their language

And their lands preserved and given back,

That they may live in Peace and Harmony

At one with nature and allowed to keep

The Continents of North and South America.

Recovery from all abuse and halting

Of destructive forces which have been

Allowed to trample trees and animals,

Polluting air and water with abandon,

This is only possible if these

Great Peoples can regain the noble lives

And gentle living that they’ve done for centuries

Before they were enslaved and forced to live

In ways that harm them and the land and waters.

Time is NOW, to seek co-operation

With these Peoples to assist us through

The Cycles of the Earth, from snow and ice,

To floods and overflowing rivers and

Thus even overcome the Continental

Drifts that happen now and then, resulting

In Earthquakes and those huge Tsunamis.  It’s

The only Hope for all of us to be

Successful on this Earth and have our vital

Needs restored, our air and water and

Our oxygen-producing Trees and Algae.

Peace on Earth, Good Will to Everyone,

Including Men and Women, Children and

Our precious pets.  Perhaps some hesitate

To imitate the Aboriginals

And some won’t abrogate their hold on gold

And other precious assets which require

The subjugation of the many to

A few.  Perhaps the Few feel they do have

The right to make the Earth into their own

Grand image of themselves and all their castles

And their toys, their gold and frankincense

And myrrh.  They surely don’t command the right

To disabuse us all and rape the land

Of all its nutrients and life-sustaining

Stuff.  Imagine what the Peace and Harmony

Would be if Few would stop their interfering

Ways.  Imagine what a Natural

Good Earth could be.  Perhaps it would

Comply with what the Legends and the Bibles

Say the Creativity was all

About.  Perhaps we won’t be disallowed

To live in Gardens like the all providing

One at Eden.  Lucifer, the Snake,

Would be our Benefactor, not our leader

Into ways of Evil.  Trees of Knowledge

Could exist again and multiply

For Mankind and the Creatures of the Earth

And Seas and those that fly above the Earth

And Seas.  The need to burn the oil and gas

Beneath the Continents producing highest

Levels of polluting Carbon Dioxide,

Ever, would avoided be.  Rejoice!

It’s possible.  Amen and Hallelujah!
