THEO PHYLLINE
TEA JUICE
A Sillier-Than-Thou Sonnette
By Izzy Ess
of Elliot Ness
Theophylline, the juice of choice for Mary
Lulu Lin of Chinatown, was in
Abundance in her Jasmine Tea and Tea
Of Many Faces, eh? In
Mandalay
And Hudson’s Bay, the ships that brought her bold
Examples of her pulchritude, were rudely
Capsized by tsunamis and the Eastern
Winds that meant there was a Bicycle
Aloft, above the Love and Happiness,
Predominant in Old Beijing.
Suffice
To say, in Bays of Chesapeake and Doublespeak,
The Poltergeist of Feisty iced his tub.
In Golden Ages, several pages would
Agree that carvings were alive in wood.
