a winter tale of tail

ELLIE AND HOPPY
A Winter’s Tale of Tail
By Izzy Ess of Happiness

When Hopalong McTavish paused to write
His name in snowdrifts in the countryside,
His writing was exactly like our Lady
Windermere’s.  Of course, it was because,
She followed him around the winter countryside
While holding tight his finger that
He used to write his name in snow.  Our Lady
Elsinore von Windermere was smitten
By his kitten, Samuel B. Beauregard,
Who Hopalong sequestered in his overcoat.
It was so cold, one morning that
The snow was frozen and a finger could
Not penetrate the crust.  So, Hopalong
Was forced to use his pee to write his name.
Our Lady, Ellie, was co-operating
And quite willing to accommodate
Our Hopalong by holding and re-warming
Hoppy’s instrument for writing.  The
Quite happy couple won the hearts of all
Who read their signatures in frozen snow.
The Winter Wonderland of Windermere
And H. McTavish won’t forever be
The same, again.  This Tale of Tail is ending
Now before the crudeness creeps a little
In and starts describing what occurred
In Winter Inn.  Of course, I’ll never tell.
Suffice to say, the couple rang a bell.
If Hell is frozen over, then, the Leafs
Have won the Stanley Cup and garnered wreathes.

THE END
