Pierre composed a Symphony in G.

He followed clues by Ludwig Beethoven,

Composer of those masterpieces of

Such unexpected melodies and combinations

Of the notes to baffle and

Surprised his listeners and former mentors,

Mozart, Haydn and the famous Viennese

Collections of composers.  He

Accepted Mozart logic in his chords

And harmonies, but also put in unexpected

Humour for the rest of us.

His touches of chaotic chords and interjected

Melodies, were brilliant, coming

From his deep and troubled moody mind.

Tchaikovsky and some others put their hearts

And souls in music, pushing limits to

The edge of sanity into the brink

Of mania, depression, out-and-out

Despair and lusty love.  Bipolar moodiness

Plagued many great composers, classical

And otherwise, and so it did Pierre.

Without his lithium and other toxins,

Our Pierre was brilliant in a line

Of such stars as Ravel, Debussy, Berlioz,

Poulenc and Charles de Galle.  Pierre’s

G Symphony for Orchestra was sent

To Charles Dutoit of Montreal and his

Famed L’Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal.

Poor Pierre of Old Quebec was murdered

By a robber who mistook him for

A wealthy man.  Dutoit was ticked because

His salary and royalties had not

Been paid on time.  He tore the manuscript

To shreds.  The opening eight notes spelt GACD,

GAEC, which, in English,

Meant, GO AWAY CHARLES DUTOIT, GO AWAY

EVIL CHARLIE.  Other copies of

Pierre’s G Symphony did not exist.

Pierre shared all his notions with me and

I could compose a Symphony in G

For everyone.  Just knowing all the moods

Is good enough, like fressing all the foods.
